What is the background to the role?

Apprentices.work (AAW) partner with US employers to create new opportunities and career pathways for individuals with potential who may not have a traditional academic background.

 

Apprentices get high-quality training on our online campus using a blend of eLearning, video-based training, and virtual labs. They will then have a weekly in-person instruction session from a technical trainer. This weekly session is the role we are hiring for.

 

Trainers will have a maximum of 15 students in a class and will be provided with all necessary curriculum materials. Trainers support apprentices on their learning journey, illustrating how technical aspects work, removing any barriers to understanding, and offering context and examples to illustrate how things work.

 

What is the role of a Trainer:

• The curriculum is already defined, and the content is provided.

• Apprentices learn independently via online courses

• Trainers meet apprentices is a separate session to help them interpret, understand, and apply what they have learned

• Trainers will demonstrate, illustrate & contextualize the learning points to help apprentices gain the necessary skills

 

What are we looking for in a candidate?

• At least five years of technical experience in a business environment

• Demonstrated experience in teaching, adult training, or on-the-job-training

• Recognized industry certificates and/or practical technical achievements

• Programming skills in SQL and Python

• Data visualization skills in Tableau or similar

• Experience & comfort with coaching beginners across a variety of related fields

• Outstanding communication skills & comfort engaging groups of students

• Good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, and a problem-solving mindset

• Familiarity with ad tech, digital marketing, and online media data preferred

 

What is the commitment for a trainer?

• Programs last 12 months, with a weekly live video session

• Weekly sessions last between 1-2 hours

• The role is remote working, part-time, freelance, and contract-based

• Trainers are paid hourly on agreed schedules

• This part-time role is only open to candidates eligible to work in the US.
