AAW Skills Coach

Job Description:
Your job as a skills coach is to support the apprentice as they progress through the program. To ensure they keep on top of their commitments, as well as to coach, problem solve and troubleshoot barriers to success.
This role is ideal for someone with a blend of coaching skills & real world work experience who is passionate about developing people. Great coaches make a difference in the lives of their apprentices, & this rewarding position is part of a team committed to removing barriers for diverse talent getting good jobs.
What is the Skills Coach role responsible for:

Keeping Apprentices on track, with timely planning of workload, appointments, & completing tasks

Coach Apprentices to sustain motivation & focus over the program - from reassurance and encouragement, to celebrating milestones achieved along the way

Support the Apprentice to engage with their online campus and learning program

Work with stakeholders to set monthly & quarterly goals that focus them on program success

Collaborate with stakeholders to craft quarterly work projects to support necessary competencies

Provide light pastoral care during the program to reduce stress & pressure Apprentices may feel, and to support them building the confidence & self belief to succeed

Provide support professional business skill training such as: email writing, communication skills, or ‘problem solving’ where apprentices may need to discuss, reflect & clarify.

Complete weekly reporting into the learning campus to update on progress
What experience and skills do we want from you?

People HR management or young adult / adult education
-
Familiarity with learning experiences - academic or professional

Business skills - e.g. office software, basic problem solving, and email etiquette

Coaching experience essential, and industry qualifications preferred (e.g. ICF)
